Judgment in Practice: The Home Index

Most Stoic books teach principles.

This one asks something further:

The Home Index is one answer.

It began with a simple personal question:

Where should I live?

It became an experiment in disciplined judgment.

The result was not simply a ranking of places, but a method for thinking carefully, correcting honestly, and deciding deliberately.

In that sense, The Home Index is not primarily about cities.

It is about judgment.

It shows that Stoic discipline is not confined to journals or quotations. It can guide practical decisions, withstand disagreement, and improve through evidence without abandoning its principles.

If this Codex teaches the habits of disciplined judgment, The Home Index is one example of those habits put to work.

Not the only one.

Simply one living instrument built from them.
