A practical companion for spending an autumn living in Salt Lake City rather than visiting it. The proposed season runs from 1 September to 27 November 2027, based in Sugar House, a few miles southeast of downtown. The book covers the house, the ordinary week on foot, running, food, hosting, the canyons, transport and practical matters, then asks the question the season eventually has to answer: does the ordinary week still work in November?

Sugar House won Fall. Now live it.

This companion begins where the second edition of the Fall Home Index ended. Seven places were examined; four could still finish first; two survived the differences you feel day to day. Sugar House and Innsbruck's Saggen could not be separated on the ordinary week or on the streets, and Innsbruck may offer the finer pure autumn. The decision came down to the house: Sugar House could put you inside a furnished home with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, and Saggen could not.

Six working plates show how the life fits together. The photographs were taken by the author in Salt Lake City, the Wasatch and Basel in September and October 2026. Details that will change before autumn 2027 are collected in Reference under Confirm before booking. The first Fall companion, Basel · Gundeldingen, remains in the record as the first edition.
